The HHS Knowledge Centre strengthens patient care by connecting high‑quality evidence with real‑world clinical practice. Through three integrated programs – Knowledge Synthesis, Knowledge Mobilization, and Quality Improvement & Education, we support clinicians, researchers, and learners in advancing evidence‑informed, patient‑centred healthcare across HHS.
Knowledge Centre Manager: Karen Mosleh (MSc)
Oversees operations and coordination across all programs.
Research Assistant: Thilini Wijesekera (MPH)
Provides research and administrative support to the entire Knowledge Centre.
Our Programs
KNOWLEDGE SYNTHESIS
Director: Dr. Bram Rochwerg
The Knowledge Synthesis Program produces rigorous evidence summaries to guide clinical decision‑making. Our team specializes in systematic reviews, meta‑analysis, network meta‑analysis, trial sequential analysis, and individual patient data meta‑analysis. We also support the development of trustworthy clinical practice guidelines using the GRADE approach. By building capacity among faculty, trainees, and clinicians, we help position HHS as a leader in evidence synthesis and guideline development.
KNOWLEDGE MOBILIZATION
Director: Dr. JD Schwalm
Research Coordinators: Marija Corovic (MPH) & Katelyn Cullen (MPH)
As the Knowledge Centre’s implementation science stream, the Knowledge Mobilization Program (Centre for Evidence-Based Implementation – CEBI) ensures that evidence‑based recommendations are translated into routine clinical practice. Working with multidisciplinary teams, we support the adoption and sustainability of proven best practices across diverse clinical areas. Our goal is to improve patient outcomes, experiences and system performance across HHS.
QUALITY IMPROVEMENT & EDUCATION
Director: Dr. Ekta Khemani
The Quality Improvement & Education Program provides clinicians with practical training in QI methods. Our introductory course, Quality Improvement in Healthcare: Foundations for Clinicians, teaches participants how to identify problems, design interventions, measure change, and implement improvements in real clinical settings. The program equips clinicians at all career stages with the skills to lead meaningful, measurable improvements in patient care.
