Jacob Crawshaw, PhD (Previous CEBI Trainee and CIHR Health System Impact Fellow 2022-2023)
Dr. Crawshaw is currently a Senior Methodologist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, specializing in the use of rigorous, systematic methodologies and behavioural science to address complex health challenges across patient populations, clinical practice, and healthcare systems. During his time with our team, Dr. Crawshaw investigated cardiac care pathways by conducting interviews with key stakeholders involved in the treatment of patients with acute heart conditions at HHS. He performed a review of the literature to uncover barriers and identify strategies for improving care transitions. Building on these insights, he developed a care transition model for post–heart attack patients, designed for implementation at HHS to enhance care quality, optimize patient outcomes, and strengthen overall health system performance.
